Notes:     (1) In my opinion the designation of var. for this coin would be incorrect. It is agreed that the reverse inscription on this coin is inconsistent with RIC 117. However, there is a significant misreading of Cohen by RIC and RSC as relates to this issue. Cohen 40 (reference cited by RIC and used by RSC) notes "same legend", With SIRM In Ex. Cohen 39, the previous noted coin, has a reverse legend of "VOTIS V. MVLTIS X. It would appear that both RIC and RSC mistakenly refer back to Cohen 33 which notes an inscription of "VOT. V. MVLT. X.", but makes no reference to a mint mark of SIRM. Since the reference cited by RIC for this coin is Cohen 40, the obvious conclusion, in my opinion, is that RIC is in error as to its inscription description, and that the coin is that of RIC 117.
