While the attribution of this issue to mainland Greece is relatively certain, at present its iconography prevents any further localization. The reverse of has an affinity to issues of Phlious (cf. BCD Pelop. 96-7 and 105) and Tegea (cf. BCD Pelop. 1719 and 1721), but the obverse type of those coins are directly related to those cities, and neither used a goat or ram as a symbol. Two cities in the Peloponnesos, Pellene and Pheneos, used a ram on their coins, but not in the manner as on the present coin, nor did they issue any coins with a T on the reverse.
