Notes:     Ex Isle of Wight Hoard. The Isle of Wight hoard was discovered by metal detectorists near the town of Brighstone on 19 October 2005. Consisting of 967 Durotrigan silver staters, most of the hoard were of the Cranborne Chase type (Van Arsdell 1235-1). All of the coins were recorded and photographed by the British Museum before being returned to the finders and landowner. Many have gone to market since. See, e.g., Coin News, February 2006, p. 32, for further details.
